Dinner in an historic mining building

5 minutes away from Woods and Wine is the imposing THOR Park.  An old coal mining complex that sounds dark and drab but in every sense of the words far from that. The city Genk restored the site and has turned it into an innovative technology park. Nestled inside the building is restaurant Partaasch. Giving ode on the coal mines, the decor is trendy retro and super inviting. But it isn’t just the decor that makes this place special the food follows suite.

This weekend we had the pleasure of dining at Partaasch with good friends.  Basically to thank them for the tremendous help they have given us with getting Woods and Wine up ad started If Peter and I go to dinner its normally the “full Monty” so that means the full 5-course dinner with of course wine. Partaasch did not leave us disapointed!  Most of the dishes are meant for sharing which makes it cosy and invites conversation. They even were very accommodating for the vegetarian in our group.  The wine was surprising which was refreshing, we drank a bottle from a Belgian winery “Kitsberg” , and yes Belgium doesn’t just make beer!

It was a great evening to remember which is how it should be. Partaasch is only 5 minutes by car from Woods and Wine and would make the perfect combo for those looking for a memorable place to dine.  They also serve lunch and the prices are reasonable in comparison to the quality.  They also have a Tapas menu which will be our next adventure!
